Publisher says it's working hard to find new jobs for laid off developers

THQ to host UK studio open days

Open days for recruiters are being held at THQ’s closing Warrington studio.

The publisher has confirmed it will hold recruitment days next week, on Monday June 20th and Tuesday June 21st to help soon to be laid off developers find new employers.

Earlier this week Develop broke the story that THQ UK Digital, the Warrington studio formerly known as Juice Games, was to close just a year after being realigned to work on digital products.

The axe fell as part of a wider studio shake-up as THQ refocuses on more cost-effective regions to run studios in: it’s also closing the New York-based developer of Homefront, Kaos, with production of that game’s sequel moved to Montreal.

Studios and developers are invited along to the Warrington open days.

"THQ would welcome representatives from studios/developers who would be interested in talking to the effected employees about job opportunities within the industry," the publisher said in a statement.
