360 hits 11.6 million

Across the 37 countries Xbox 360 is available, Microsoft has stated that it has now shifted a total of 11.6 million units, and has also sold 24.3 million units of software – more than PS3 and Wii combined.

But that’s not all – Xbox EMEA boss Chris Lewis told MCV that he wants to increase the console’s presence even further.

We’re very happy with the performance overall not only with the installed base of just under 12 million consoles in 37 countries, and we’re breaking records everywhere in terms of attach rate,” he said. We’re at a great value price point, there’s a line-up now that gives consumers choice and our Live experience remains second to none.”

There’s still a desire to get an overall bigger footprint here in EMEA, we continue to look at new countries to add on in the right time and in the right way, and we won’t do that until it makes sense. But we do of course have plans to expand.”
