Analyst: 360 Slim on the way

Microsoft could have more than just an Xbox 360 price cut up its sleeve – one analyst believes the platform holder could be on the verge of revealing an Xbox 360 Slim.

When asked about the possibility of slimmed down console to rival Sony’s upcoming new machine, DFC Intelligence’s David Cole told IndustryGamers: I think it is a question of when not if. However, the when part is a biguncertainty.

Rumors have been going on for a long time. I think peoplewere asking me the same question last year at this time. As costefficiencies allow smaller and more reliable is always a good thing.

However, you also have something like Project Natal which could also tie inwith hardware redesigns. There are a lot of questions Microsoft must weighinternally and there are always going to arguments on both sides of thefence around timing.

So I don’t know, but in our DFC forecasts we anticipated a major redesign in2010, so I guess that was our bet.”
