Mocap kit and brand refresh to be unveiled at Develop conference and expo

Animazoo set to unveil new tech in Brighton

Brighton-based Animazoo plans to take the wraps off its new motion capture technology at this year’s Develop conference and expo.

IGS-190 is the name of the new mocap technology and is the next generation of the world’s first inertial gyroscopic Gypsy Gyro 18.

The kit, which has been in the works for over two years, is currently in beta testing and will get its first showing at the conference.

Key features include the introduction of specially customised InertiaCube gyroscopic sensors and the addition of an extra sensor to provide greater nuance of movement and capture data.

Animazoo also has a patent-pending global translation system in the kit, which improves the precision of the suits, with all the improvements meaning the kit works well for multi-actor capture.

The firm’s partners include companies both inside and outside of games, with Rockstar North, the BBC and global universities including Yale, MIT and Glasgow Caledonian all key clients.

At the same time, Animazoo is refreshing its brand identity to coincide with the roll out of
IGS-190 – the company’s logo and corporate website have been updated.

“As the inventors of inertial gyroscopic mocap systems and manufacturers of the award winning gypsy range no one knows this technology better than us,” added Ali Kord, Animazoo’s director of technology

“We’re always looking at ways to push our products forward and the IGS-190 is a great achievement. Early feedback as well as already high levels of interest have proved that there is big demand for our latest offering.”

Jo Hull, marketing director at Animazoo commented: “After two years in development, we’re delighted to finally introduce our much awaited IGS-190 mocap system.

“It’s especially exciting for us to demo this system in Brighton at our home city.”
