Assassin’s Creed film in development, is being fast tracked

Ubisoft has confirmed that production has begun on an Assassin’s Creed movie.

The publisher’s Ubisoft Motion Pictures arm, which was created in 2011, has partnered with New Regency for the production and has struck an agreement that allows Ubisoft to maintain control of key elements of the movie’s creative direction”.

Development of the screenplay is underway and the entire project is described as being fast tracked”.

As has been previously reported, Michael Fassbender will be starring.

Ubisoft has also confirmed that it has two further feature films planned based on Tom Clancy pair Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon, as well as an animated Rabbids TV series.
