Bethesda’s Fallout 4 is coming to VR

Publisher Bethesda unveiled its VR plans during its E3 conference yesterday, including two projects for HTC Vive.

The first one is a virtual reality Doom experience, for which the publisher did not specify any release date.

But the second, and potentially more exciting, announcement was that a VR version of post-apocalypticblockbuster Fallout 4 is coming to retail as soon as 2017.

Bethesda VP of marketing and PR Pete Hines said: Since we first showed off modern VR with Doom 3 BFG at E3 2012, we have dedicated ourselves to the technology, constantly pushing ourselves forward.

We think that VR is the perfect fit for truly immersive games like our massive open-world RPGs. If you thought Survival Mode was an intense Fallout experience… you ain’t seen nothing yet.”

Other announcements from Bethesda last night included a new Quake game and a remastered version of Skyrim for PS4 and Xbox One
