HTML5 developers to bring Valiant's comic characters to games

Big Viking partners with comic outfit Valiant Entertainment

Big Viking are in the news again, this time announcing a partnership with Comics outfit Valiant Entertainment, the publisher in third place behind giants DC and Marvel. Big Viking will be teaming up with the comics company to turn some of its better known properties into HTML games.

Valiant is responsible for characters like: X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, Harbinger, Shadowman, and Archer & Armstrong, but also has 2,000 other characters on its books that Big Viking can look to use over the course of the five year mobile contract. Many of this characters haven’t appeared in video game form before, and those that have like Shadowman, have mostly been swallowed up by history.

The new titles are said to focus on "messengers and social networks as distribution", also taking advantage of Big Viking’s partnership with the HTML5 Facebook Messenger Instant Games platform, and it’s likely some of this games will be purpose built for Facebook’s platform.

Big Viking are pioneers in the HTML5 space, finding success with games liike Fish World and YoWorld. They’ve released games to Facebook, iOS and Android.

Valiant and Big Viking share a very similar core ideology, which is to ‘make fans,’ and I believe this partnership will make millions of new fans for both companies”
