Not that there was much doubt to begin with, but it looks as though Gearbox and 2K have a real winner on their hands with Borderlands 2.
GI.biz reports the game has moved 1.4m copies at US retail, noting that figure omits digital numbers which includes Steam (all PC sales) and downloads via PSN.
The source previously forecasted an estimation of 3m total units sold worldwide including PC during the September period.
NPD’s September report mentioned the sequel had outsold its original counterpart in the first month by 234 per cent.
Borderlands 2 is out now in US, Europe, and Australia, and is set to ship in Japan later this month.
