New game in BAFTA winning adventure series a go

Broken Sword Kickstarter reaches $400k goal

The BAFTA winning adventure game series Broken Sword is set for a comeback after its Kickstarter campaign reached its $400,000 funding goal.

The new point-and-click title is the latest adventure game to launch on the crowd funding site, which first got major attention when Tim Schafer unleashed his Double Fine Adventure campaign this spring.

The game is being designed by Charles Cecil and Revolution Software, and will be available on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

The campaign had raised $420,000 at time of writing.

“To reach our target in just 13 days is incredible,” said Cecil, managing director of Revolution.

“The generosity of fans and supporters, both in terms of money pledged and the passion that they have displayed on the forums, is absolutely overwhelming.

“I would like to thank each and every person who has taken the time and trouble to pledge their support – and promise that the game we create will reward their faith.”
