UK studio Creative Assembly has once again held a memorial game jam for a former member of staff.
Simon Franco was the senior programmer on last year’s Alien: Isolation but sadly passed away in June 2014.
Last November the studio held a game jam in his honour, raising money for a local hospital. This weekend, the team revived the event with the goal of fundraising for known games-centric charity SpecialEffect.
“Simon was a dear friend and colleague to many here at CA,” the team wrote on the studio’s blog. “In order to commemorate his life, work, and passion for retro gaming we’re hosting our second annual weekend long GameJam in his honor.
“FrancoJam pits small teams of CA staff members against each other in a two-day contest to create a whole game.”
You can check out the team’s livestream from the event via the saved Twitch broadcast below, and you can donate at the FranoJam 2016 Justgiving page.
So far, the team has raised more than £800 for SpecialEffect.
