Crytek has announced The Climb, a virtual reality rock-climbing game in development exclusively for release on Oculus Rift.
The game allows players to experience free solo rock climbing, promising to deliver hyper-realistic climbing spots from locations across the globe. It’ll support both Xbox One and Oculus Touch periperhals as well.
Crytek is renowned for leveraging their Cryengine tech to create beautiful, immersive games,” Oculus head of worldwide studios Jason Rubin said.
Their early VR demos really captured public imagination, and to see their ideas come to life with Rift is incredible and not to be missed. The Climb is a beautiful combination of art and thrill that’s bringing an entirely new level of adventure gaming to Rift.”
No release windows has been mentioned as of yet, but the company did provide the following recommended specifications:
- CPU: Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
- Memory: 8GB RAM
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater
- OS: Windows 7 SP1 or newer
- HDD: Unknown
- Display: Oculus Rift, native resolution
