Interior Night staffs up with three senior hires

Caroline Marchal, founder of new London-based developer Interior Night, has hired three senior staff members to join her on her quest to produce rich narrative games and experiences. These new friends all have Sony flavoured backgrounds, as Marchal does herself, having worked on the likes of Heavy Rain, SingStar and Wonderbook.

Ronald De Feijter is the new technical director for the studio, and worked on the likes of Eye PetWonderbook: Book of Spells and PlayStation VR Worlds. Before working at Sony London Studios, De Feijter cut his teeth at Playlogic, working in collaboration with Sony.

Steve Kniebihly will be the studio’s cinematic director, and has worked on Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine and Planet of the Apes – New Frontier. Kniebihly worked with Marchal at Quantic Dream between 2005 and 2012, but has since bounced around the likes of Ubisoft, CD Projekt Red and The Imaginati Studios.

Charu Desodt takes the role of production director and comes with experience in AR and social gaming, having worked on SingStar and Wonderbook: Book of Spells. After working at Sony on these titles, Desodt defected to Microsoft’s Lift London studio, but clearly none of her Sony compatriots are holding it against her. Which is nice of them. Maybe it’s because Desodt has a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit honour attached to her name, which she won in 2014.

“I’m delighted to have Steve, Ronald and Charu join the team,” says Caroline Marchal. “In addition to being super nice and amazing to work with, they are experts in narrative and social games. They are the right people to help Interior Night fulfil its ambition.”

We’re very much looking forward to seeing what Interior Night is up to, and how exactly they hope to reinvent narrative games.
