DS hits four million in UK

The platform holder’s figures come courtesy of ChartTrack and state that one million DS consoles have been sold in 2007 alone – with a bumper Christmas season still to come.

There is also good news in terms of software, as Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training has sold over a million units in the UK – meaning one in four DS owners are training their brains.

General manager of Nintendo UK David Yarnton said of the milestone: With its wide appeal and unique software, the Nintendo DS has significantly expanded the gaming audience and driven growth across the whole market.”

Alongside the unprecendented performance of Wii, and with demand still as strong as ever for the Nintendo DS, it shows that these revolutionary consoles continue to appeal to everyone,” he added.
