E3 sends MCV Online soaring

E3 has rubber-stamped MCV as the biggest single games trade site in Europe.

According to Google Analytics, the online version of the UK-based publication welcomed 108,251 unique users between Sunday June 13th and Saturday June 19th.

Over 300 different stories, plus opinion, analysis and links to live events were posted during E3, attracting a staggering 245,733 page views in a single week.

Geographic split shows that over 50 per cent of all readership came from the UK, but the US and Canada accounted for 26 per cent. European readers, including the UK, made up 63 per cent of the total audience.

Also, according to search analytics from Alexa, MCV was over a thousand places higher than its nearest rival in terms of UK web traffic rank on Monday June 21st.

"There was a lot of brilliant coverage from many UK-based websites during E3. The British games media is the best in the world. Every year it does the LA show proud, despite the parties and jam-packed schedules," said MCV publisher and Intent Media boss Stuart Dinsey

"But the MCV team is obviously delighted to be the dominant trade site in the UK and Europe. Sister title Develop, which is exclusively read by game designers, programmers and producers, is also doing tremendously well, so hats off to that team too."
