More details on long-rumoured UE3-powered new IP emerge

EA’s Dead Space very much alive

US magazine Game Informer has the scoop on confirming the latest new IP to emerge from EA’s internal studios – the long-rumoured Dead Space.

Named last year by analyst P. J. McNealey and said to be built using Unreal Engine 3, the game is being developed by a "renegade team" at Electronic Arts, according to GI.

Early last year EA set about redressing its product portfolio with emphasis on new IP and non-licence-reliant franchises. Dead Space joins the likes of Skate, Army of Two, two projects from Steven Spielberg and other unannounced games.

Dead Space itself is described as a sci-fi survival horror game.
