UK to host Epic Developer Day and Unreal University

Epic’s ‘Dev Days’ come to Europe

Epic is to host a pair of events in the UK that offer users of UE3 and UDK a chance to gain hands on guidance from the teams behind the technologies.

The Epic Developer Day and Unreal University days take place back-to-back in July, and will be run by by senior members of Epic’s engine team and vetted UE3 instructors.

The Epic Developer Day, which fills the first day of the event, has been conceived for anyone under Epic’s non-disclosure agreement for commercial Unreal Engine 3 evaluation and/or full license.

Scheduled sessions are set to cover a range of topics, and opportunities to question Epic and seek advice on trouble shooting are to be made available. Epic has confirmed that it is happy to sign NDAs prior to event. Those interested in the NDAs should contact European territory manager Mike Gamble.

Unreal University will be the focus of the second day, offering a new academic initiative that promises to provide professional, hands-on guidance to those interested in UDK. Session topics are set to cover getting started with UDK, level design best practices, mobile game development techniques and more.

The free-to-attend events take place on July 13th and 14th this year at De Vere West One in Portland Place, London. You can register for the Epic Developer day here, and for the Unreal University here.
