ESL running $150,000 Hearthstone team league

ESL has announced the ESL Hearthstone Trinity Series, a $150,000 Hearthstone league for teams to compete in.

The competition will kick off later this month, with eight teams playing each other once across seven weeks of league play. The competition will then conclude at ESL’s California studios.

Virtus Pro, Tempo Storm, G2 Esports and Cloud9 will all feature in the league, with the remaining teams yet to be revealed.

Matches will see all three players from each team playing in the same match, with open communication. Teams will bring one deck for each class to every match, which will all be best of elevens.

The competition is a much needed boost to the Hearthstone eSports scene, which saw a lot of big names such as NaVi and Dignitas drop out in 2016. With this new league organisation should hopefully be more open to building solid rosters of players, instead of just dabbling with one or two.
