Organisation now offering Pre-Production Accelerator and Finishing Fund for indies

Execution Labs secures £3.3m in funding

Indie accelerator Execution Labs has bagged $6m in Canadian dollars – equivalent to £3.3m – in funding as it continues to help independent games developers grow.

This round of funding was led by media firm Corus Entertainment, with contributions from Execution Labs’ established partners BDC Capital, Real Ventures and White Star Capital.

Corus will also help Execution Labs build its brand and the company’s EVP of strategic planning and CTO Scott Dyer will join the acclearator’s Board.

The funding itself will allow Execution Labs to aid indies through two programs: the Pre-Production Accelerator, a three-month initiative offering studios $50,000, shared workspace and mentoring; and the Finishing Fund, which provides indies with "substantial funding" for final production, testing and marketing.

Studios interested in either can find out more and apply through the Execution Labs website.

"The goal of Execution Labs has always been to foster the development of independent game studios, and with the support of our incredibly generous mentor network we’ve been able to help talented developers launch great games and then go on to set up sustainable studios," said co-founder Jason Della Rocca.

"With the injection of funds from Corus and our existing partners, we’ll be able to keep fuelling those new studios while ensuring that the top developers out there continue to get the funding and support they need to launch amazing new games."
