Fan vote sends Na’Vi to Epicenter after team fail to qualify

Na’Vi will be attending Russian Dota 2 event Epicenter, despite failing to qualify, after winning a fan vote to decide the last team to be invited.

Epicenter is the biggest event in Russia, with a $500,000 prize pool. Na’Vi were just one match away from qualifying, being defeated in the quarterfinals by Team Secret, captained by former Na’Vi player Clement ‘Puppey’ Ivanov.

The fan vote let players choose between Na’Vi, Faceless, LGD and NP Gaming to decide the final team that would be invited, and Na’Vi stormed the vote on social media with 74 per cent of the total votes.

Na’Vi has the benefit of being one of the most popular brands in Dota, with a massive following on social media, however they’ve fallen on hard times competitively.

Epicenter’s LAN finals will take place from June 4 to 11.
