Fans watched 360 million hours of the League of Legends World Championship

The League of Legends World Championship 2015 broke a number of records for developer Riot.

In a blog post, the firm said that over the course of this year’s tournament, 360 million hours of live events were watched, almost doubling last year’s total of 194 million.

Meanwhile, Riot also reports that 334m unique viewers tuned in over the course of the four week event, another increase on last year’s tournament which saw 288m unique viewers.

On average, 4.2 million LoL fans were watching the 73 games. They also averagely watched for ‘well over an hour’.

For the final, 14m fans were tuned in at one point – up from the 11m in 2014. In total, 36m people watched the final.

The first match of the Championship saw 1m concurrent Twitch viewersback in October.
