The premium mobile title has made a big splash

Fireproof Games reveal The Room franchise has hit 11.5 million sales

Fireproof Games has revealed today that it’s The Room franchise has sold over 11.5 million copies since launching the first game. The Room was far from the first room escape titles, but one of the first for mobile that struck a cord, and it’s now become an unlikely success story for premium mobile titles.

Not that the British developer doesn’t deserve the success, but Fireproof Games, who revealed the data via an infographic, said that The Room had exceeded all expectations when it sold a million copies a month after launch.

The infographics also give budding premium app developers a lot of interesting data on price points and sales spikes. It’s an honest look at premium game development and includes a lot of development time and cost stats.

It also marks good news for Fireproof Games, not only in that they’ve sold 11.5 million copies, but also in that they seem to have an upwards trend in terms of popularity. First-day and best-day sales for each game in the series have increased with every entry, although none of the titles quite matched up to the average sales of the original.
