Free-to-play Happy Wars launches on Xbox 360 this week for Gold subs

Free-to-play gaming comes to Xbox 360 this week, as the microtransaction-supported brawler Happy Wars launches for Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Friday, October 12th.

The game has players going at one another in large scale multiplayer battles in up to 15v15 online skirmishes, and will also include an offline single-player campaign and a co-op mode against AI.

Thousands of premium custom character items are there for players to shop for or ignore as well.

ToyLogic’s title is the first proper free-to-play showing on the 360 console, and Microsoft will head further down its new avenue with Signal Studios’ Ascend: New Gods – an upcoming title that will also rely on microtransactions scheduled to arrive in 2013.
