GAME launches national Great UK Game Off competition

A UK-wide competition has been launched by GAME that will culminate in a live final at Insomnia 56.

The Great UK Game Off kicks off next week on August 3rd. A number of heats will take place in select GAME stores, including an assortment of titles including Forza Motorsport 5, FIFA 15, LEGO Jurassic World and Mario Kart 8.

Not only will the winner be crowned in front of a live audience, but they’ll also grab a 5,000 GAME Rift Card.

This is the first time we’ve ever done anything like this,” marketing and insight director Fred Prego said. Following the acquisition of Multiplay earlier this year and the success of our community events, we’ve been looking at ways of bringing grass roots eSports to our stores and this is the perfect opportunity to give one lucky gamer the recognition of a lifetime.

We live and breathe gaming and we want to give our community, whatever their skill level, the chance to earn official gaming accolades and maybe even play in front of thousands at Insomnia. As a player progresses through the later stages they won’t just be representing themselves, but the North and South of England. Who knows what part of the country our winner will hail from?”

You can enrol at your local participating store. Taking part could net you one of a range of prizes too, including Vue cinema passes and Reward Points.
