Gamecock European office opens doors

Gamecock has this week officially opened its European office – with the games company rolling out its new indie publishing model under the moniker ‘indie label spirit, major label muscle’.

MCV first broke news of the new UK office and amagement team back in January – and the European HQ is now up and running.

Headquartered in Lonsdale Road, Queens Park, London, Gamecock’s new European team includes Euro MD Graeme Struthers, European marketing and PR director Sarah Seaby, European production manager Lee Harris and European PR manager Alistair Hatch.

Gamecock describes its publishing model as ‘taking its lead from the downturn of big Hollywood and the rise of the independent film movement’. In essence, it promises to offer studios a better deal.

The opening of the new European office comes as Gamecock readies itself for the arrival of its first two titles – Stronghold Crusader Extreme for PC, Dementium: The Ward for DS and Insecticide for DS and PC formats.

To use a cliched Gamecock expression, ‘cock-a-doodle-do!’” said MD Graeme Struthers. We’re finally in and it feels brilliant. We’re quite literally located right in the heart of Queens Park silicon back-alley and even have a barn door on the office to stop the horse from bolting.

"I’d like to thank my friends and family for all the support during the setting-up period and to invite all my friends within the industry to pop in and visit our new roost. Sarah Seaby will gladly buy you a beer.”
