Games set to star at Toy Fair

Organisers of Toy Fair ’08 believe the games-related products on show at the expo would offer specialist retailers a useful extra source of revenue.

The event takes place from Wednesday, July 30th to Saturday, February 2nd. Games products on display include Swinxs BV’s Swinxs console, which contains four nifty wristbands that feature Radio Frequency ID technology. The hub is designed to get families playing together – and encourage outdoor exploration. Free games can be downloaded from the Swinx website.

Re: creation’s Pyramat wireless gaming chair will also be on show, along with VTech’s V.Smile Pocket console for kids, amongst others.

Toy Fair welcomes new forms of electronics, games consoles as much as traditional toys,” director of communications at Toy Fair organiser BTHA Natasha Crookes told MCV. These are ideal products for both toy retailers and games retailers. It’s really nice to have the mix.

The gadgets electrical toys have always been strong at the Fair – and they’re getting stronger. Toy Fair is often thought of as a fairly traditional show, but the electrical items are going to play a big role this year.”
