New development hub working with Frostbite 2 tech for next-gen projects

GDC: Electronic Arts opens Gothenburg studio

EA is embarking on a hiring run for a new games studio located in Gothenburg, the publisher has announced.

EA Gothenburg will be the publisher’s second development hub in Sweden, with core studio DICE operating in Stockholm. The outfit will focus on “on making a new generation of games using the Frostbite 2 engine".

The new outfit bolsters Electronic Arts’ fleet of European development studios, which includes UK groups Playfish and Criterion.

“At EA Gothenburg, we are committed to delivering great games that connect gamers,” a jobs posting from the company reads.

“We have an open and constructive communication and we respect individuals. We aim for the highest quality in everything we do, and that colours our everyday workspace and way of working.”
