Compounding the widening belief that a new Grand Theft Auto could be announced at some stage this year, a casting call for a mystery new Take-Two project has got tongues wagging.
A Kotaku report backs up previous claims that the game will be retuning to Los Angeles by citing a casting call for a project codenamed ‘Rush’ from publisher Take-Two.
The casting list, which was posted on The Agency, details a number of rolls including "wise cracking FBI agent" Mitch Hayes, "creepy white trash hillbilly" Clyde, "Welsh monk/cult leader/yoga teacher" Brother Adam, "swinger and Californian divorcee" Mrs Bell, "weed evangelist" Ediie, "fat, FPS playing gamer" Kevin De Silva and "Armenian car dealer and moneylender" Harut Vartanyan.
Adding fuel to the fire publisher Take-Two recently registered several URLs such as CashForDeadDreams.com, SixFigureTemps.com, StopPayingYourMortgage.net. HammersteinFaust.com and LifeInvader.com.
Traditionally, GTA games include many references to fictional websites that can be found on the real internet.
Of course, ‘Rush’ could be for an unannounced project. Though the fact that GTA IV was developed under the codename ‘Frozen’ certainly adds weight to the rumour.
