Killzone 2 developers Guerilla and THQ’s Big Huge Games have both chosen Xsens’ Moven camera-less motion capture tech for upcoming projects.
The system, which uses inertial sensors, also comes packaged with Moven Studio, which allows real-time visualisation, recording of performance data, editing and export to .FBX and .BVH formats as well as import scripts and templates for MotionBuilder, 3ds Max, Poser and XSI.
"Guerrilla and Big Huge Games are leading studios developing AAA next-generation games. We are very proud to have them as customers," says Casper Peeters, CEO of Xsens Technologies.
"Flexibility is the main reason for these customers to invest in Moven. It allows the director and animator to quickly try out moves, whenever they want, wherever they want. With Moven, true freedom of movement, combined with impressive output quality, is finally here."
Xsens has also recently updated Moven Studio to 2.1, adding improved feedback during calibration; improved ankle, toe and spline kinematics; the ability to edit two contact point segments simultaneously; batch export and more.
