Hack leaves half of UK consumers ‘wary’ of eBay

A new poll claims that 49 per cent of UK users have become wary of eBay following last week’s news of a security breach.

The research, which wasconducted by YouGov for Clearswift, also found that 33 per cent of eBay users have already changed their passwords, with 52 per cent intending to do so in the near future.

While there has been no evidence of members’ accounts being accessed, eBay contacted its customers last week advising them to reset their passwords, revealing that a server was compromised between late February and early March.
