Swedish firm bolsters consulting and certification schemes for its project management software

Hansoft bumps up training programme

Hansoft is investing heavily in new productivity consulting services and training, as it hires a new senior production expert and establishes a new Certified Trainer programme.

Chris Wynn joins the firm as a senior production expert, tasked with helping studios become more productive with their use of Hansoft and sharing advanced best practices with customers. His 12 years in the industry include a six year stint as development director at EA Sports.

In addition, Hansoft has launched a programme to create ‘Hansoft Certified Trainers’, independent consultants that can aid in getting the most out of the software and employing best-practice.

Three consultants have so far been awarded the title: Gordon Moyes, former senior producer at Pandemic Australia, who’ll be primarily covering Australia and Asia; Heather Maxwell Chandler, formerly of Ubisoft, EA and Activision, who specialises in Hansoft training in the US and Europe; and Canada-based Jim Whitelaw, previously of BioWare, who’ll be servicing North America and Europe.

“Hansoft is a very intuitive tool and most of our clients just go ahead and start using it," said Hansoft CEO Patric Palm.

"Sometimes we do onsite productivity consulting, to share production best practices and help studios scaling agile and lean methodologies to the size and specifics of games development. To meet the growing interest for these more advanced consulting services, we are now increasing our capacity, and since we want to stay a tools vendor and not become a consulting company, we started the Hansoft Certified Trainer program.

"This program enables consultants in the industry to help our clients to be more productive in their use of Hansoft. I’m very proud to welcome Gordon Moyes, Heather Maxwell Chandler and Jim Whitelaw to the programme.”
