Huma banned from all of Riot’s leagues

Huma, a Challenger Series League of Legends team, has been banned from all Riot sanctioned leagues after failing to pay its players.

A ruling from Riot reveals that Huma has been “chronically late in paying its players the League-mandated Minimum Player Compensation” throughout the year. At the start of August Riot learned that players were yet to be paid for the summer split and had to step in to make sure these payments were completed. At this point the team had already received an official warning.

Huma’s management have been given until October 1st to sell their slot in the challenger series, providing they cooperate with any Riot officials. Team owner Behdad Jaafarian has also been given a one year ban from any official position in a Riot sanctioned league.

Huma has been in the European Challenger Series for both the spring and summer splits. On both occasions they fell just short of qualifying for the LCS, losing to Giants in the promotion tournament first time around and then just missing out on a slot in the promotion tournament in summer.
