Declining revenues lead to Code of Princess studio’s closure after 18 years

Japanese dev Agatsuma Entertainment shuts down

Reports have emerged that Agatsuma Entertainment has been closed.

The Japanese developer is best known for 3DS title Code of Princess and this year’s Umihara Kawase trilogy on Steam.

However, the poor performance of the latter and declining revenues led to the studio’s parent Agatsuma to shut the entertainment subsidiary, according to GamesIndustry.

The closure of this studio is expected to improve the overall stability of Agatsuma’s wider business.

Agatsuma Entertainment first opened doors in 1997.
