Keywords Studios to acquire VMC for $66 million

Keywords Studios are continuing their acquisition efforts making their second acquisition in less than seven days.

The services provider has announced that it is to acquire Canada and US-based QA and support service provider VMC. The deal will see the collective VMC group, which includes VMC Consulting and Volt Canada Inc, is set to be worth $66.4 million.

The deal, which is one of many that Keywords has undertaken in recent months, is their largest acquisition to date and, subject to conditions, is expected to be completed by October 30th.

VMC provide QA and localisation services to the North American market and works across many industries, including the pharmaceutical and cloud industries, as well as gaming. The big draw for Keywords in this acquisition is the Embedded Technical Services that VMC offer, which gives support solutions across the board and will enable the company to cross-sell its large array of services across multiple channels.

“VMC is an organisation we’ve admired for several years for its reputation, scale and high-quality service as well as its attractive embedded technical services and crowd-based testing services," said Keywords Studios’ CEO, Andrew Day. “We look forward to working with the team at VMC to support their growth as part of a group providing similar services, as we realise the benefits of combining our complementary services and locations. We strongly believe that this will result in a compelling offering for our broadened client base, not only in North America but also internationally.”

Just five days ago, Keywords announced the acquisition of UK-based d3t and has recently been acquiring many global localisation companies, including four companies in France.
