Konami and eFootball.Pro team up for international PES league

Konami have announced a partnership with esports outfit eFootball.Pro to create an international Pro Evolution Soccer league

The new league will be broadcast globally, and it’s aiming to attract players from all around the world. However, aside from this details for the league are thin on the ground. Last year, the PES League was an enjoyable competition, with players around the world coming to the stadiums of football giants to compete for big prizes. When we went to check it out, we got to see Anfield from the inside, too. That was nice.

eFootball.Pro president and Barcelona centre back Gerard Piqué said in a press release: “The goal is to drive all that makes traditional football the king of sports, towards electronic football, towards esports,” stated Gerard Piqué, eFootball.Pro President and FC Barcelona player. “We want to bind the best of both worlds to bring the public a new entertainment model that they love since the first day.”

Hideki Hayakawa, the CEO of Konami Digital Entertainment Co., added: “KONAMI has always been committed to delivering quality entertainment experiences to its customers, and eSports is an opportune market for reaching a growing audience,” said Hideki Hayakawa, CEO of Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. “eFootball.Pro’s unique position in eSports, combined with its strong football leadership, will allow us to deliver a fresh way for customers to enjoy our products. We are thrilled to collaborate with eFootball.Pro.”
