Monday’s admission

from lead designer Shingo ‘Seabass’ Takatsuka that his recent release Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 had failed to meet his expectations, Konami has released a patch for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game that addresses some of the major criticisms.

The download is an effort to repair the sometimes severe lag that can render online matches unplayable. It also eases the in-game stuttering, which is particularly apparent in the PS3 version.

Also specific to the PS3 is a fix for gamers experiencing problems when running the game from the PS3 hard drive.
