Independent developer Lucas Pope has censored the latest version of his critically acclaimed hit Papers, Please as it approaches release on iPad.
The much-discussed game, which puts players in the role of an immigration control officer in a fictional dictatorship, will be released for Apple’s tablet on December 12th. The date was announced by Pope via Twitter.
The developer also revealed that the full nudity option for the search scanner photos has been removed from the iPad version of the game, according to GameSpot.
This is due to Apple rejecting the original build, claiming that the pixelated photos constituted ‘pornographic content’.
Pope also tweeted that he developed the iPad version himself, and updated fans on the statues of another anticipated iteration of the game.
"The Vita port has way more dependencies so there’s still no ETA on that," he said. "I probably announced it too early."
