Composers behind Destiny, Assassin's Creed and more to discuss the art of game music

New sessions added to Game Music Connect

Additional sessions have been added to the inaugural Game Music Connect conference, which is due to take place this September.

The final sessions to be announced include an opening presentation by noted composer and academic, Professor Stephen Deutsch and two all-star composer panels – with audience discussions – addressing a wide variety of issues related to the art and business of composing music for games.

Game Music Connect has been created for aspiring and professional composers of all backgrounds and those interested in learning about the art and science of composing today’s cutting edge video game soundtracks.

The premiere Game Music Connect event features the composers of some of the best-loved multimillion selling video game franchises including Halo, Assassin’s Creed, Mass Effect, Tomb Raider, Killzone and Dead Space, as well as top audio directors from Bungie, Jagex, Microsoft and Sony Computer Entertainment.

‘Crosstalk’, one of the two plan composers panels, will feature a host of respected composers, including Martin O’Donnell (Destiny, Halo series), Jesper Kyd (Assassin’s Creed series, Hitman series, Borderlands) Jason Graves (Tomb Raider, Dead Space series) and James Hannigan (Dead Space 3, Command & Conquer series, Harry Potter series).

Game Music Connect will take place at the Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room, London on September 9th, 2013.
