New streaming karaoke game SingOn heading to PS3

SingStar is getting a rival on PS3.

It’s called SingOn and uses streaming technology that allows users to access its song library. It comes with a variety of payment options including three and 48 hour passes for 2.99 and 5.99 respectively.

A one-year pass will be available for 49.99. The SingOn download itself is free.

A library including thousands of rock, pop, indie, dance and hip-hop classics” is promised along with weekly content updates including the entirety of the UK Top 20.

It seems as if official music videos are not used, although this should ensure better streaming functionality. A ‘RoboOn’ re-tuning affect will also be available.

Furthermore, users will be able to queue up tracks using either the PS3 controller or smartphone/tablet iOS and Android companion app while the game is being played.

SingOn will launch with ten free-to-play tracks some time this spring.
