Nights for Wii dated in Europe

One of Sega’s most fondly remembered franchises, Nights, is to make its European Wii debut next January, the Japanese software giant has confirmed.

The Sega Saturn version of Nights into Dreams, which was originally released in 1996, is commonly regarded as one of the greatest titles on the platform and one of Sega’s finest works. The game was one of the first on a console to use analogue control, and came bundled with a Saturn analogue pad.

This update, Nights: Journey Into Dreams, will build upon many of the features introduced in the original, such as the A-Life system that allows players to contribute to the development of the game world.

It will also offer multiplayer features and Wi-Fi network support at launch.

Finally developing a sequel for Nights is a dream come true – for myself and, I hope, also for fans of the original game as well as people new to the game,” Sega Studio USA’s Takeshi Iizuka stated. Nights: Journey of Dreams will be a unique game making good use of the great features Wii has to offer.”
