Nintendo delays Pikmin 3 in Europe

Fans waiting for the next outing in the long-absent Pikmin series will have to wait a little while longer.

Wii U title Pikmin 3, originally due during the console’s Q1 launch window, has been delayed to Q2.

Nintendo of Europe boss Satoru Shibata revealed the new release date during a Nintendo Direct broadcast, according to Eurogamer.

The video confirmed that the next first-party Wii U title will be Sing Party on January 18th. Nintendo will release Wii U Panorama View, software that lets users watch 3D videos from 360-degrees, in Spring.

The platform holder also announced it will publish Warner Bros’ Scribblenauts Unlimited as a first-party title. The puzzle game was due for release at launch, but will now arrive on February 8th.

There were plenty of 3DS updates, as well.

March 8th will see the release of Dr Kawashima’s Devilish Brain Training: Can You Stay Focused?. Also due that month are Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, Harmo Knight, and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for both 3DS and Wii U.

The first 3DS Animal Crossing, subtitled New Leaf, will arrive in Q2, after Fire Emblem: Awakening in April.
