No Plans for PS2 Games on PSN

Sony has shot down a rumour that it is set to introduce PS2 titles as downloadable games on the PlayStation Store.

Next-gen.biz reports that a strong source supplied a PSN screenshot (pictured) that suggested Sony would be revealing the service at E3 this year – as its answer to Xbox Originals on 360.

But speaking to GamePro, Sony Computer Entertainment America’s director of corporate communications, Patrick Seybold, said the image hadn’t come from in-house, adding that Sony had no plans to distribute PS2 games over the PSN.

"I’m not sure where the image came from," he said. "At this point, we haven’t made any announcements, and there are no plans for PS2 downloadable titles on PS3."
