Sunny days for Blitz Games' rain 'em up

One million downloads for Kumo Lumo

Kumo Lumo, the first iOS release from Blitz Games, has reached one million downloads on the App Store.

The Leamington Spa based developer reached a publishing deal for the game with EA subsidiary Chillingo and launched the game earlier this month.

Kumo Lumo has received critical acclaim, including the coveted editor’s choice award, for its unique gameplay in which players control a cloud with the ability to alter the weather around them.

The rain ’em up challenges users to bring life to their world with rain while avoiding enemies and obstacles.

“We’ve been totally bowled over by the overwhelmingly positive reception Kumo Lumo has received since its launch just two weeks ago," said project director Steve Stopps.

“We set out simply to make a great game, and it certainly seems like we succeeded. We’re already busy planning updates to make Kumo Lumo even better, so watch this space. Kumo Lumo has literally gone down a storm and more than one million downloads only goes to prove that!”

To celebrate the occasion, Blitz Games will release over 200 biodegratable balloons at 1pm this Friday – one for every member of the company.
