Out now: Halo 4, NFS: Most Wanted, Assassin’s Creed 3, MOH: Warfighter

It’s the busiest time of the year for game releases, and while several high profile games are on shelves across India, a couple have been delayed.

The critically acclaimed Halo 4 is the newest to hit store shelves. Microsoft held a launch event in Delhi to celebrate the Master Chief’s return yesterday, and the game is now available all over India.

Assassin’s Creed 3 too had a hassle-free launch in India on Xbox 360 and PS3, as did Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation on PS Vita. Several stores across India also held midnight launches.

Just Dance 4, which was scheduled for release on 2nd November, is in stores now, but Football Manager 2013, also set for release on the same date, is yet to arrive on shelves.

There has been a lot of confusion around the release dates of the two EA games – Medal of Honor: Warfighter and Need for Speed: Most Wanted, what with delays being announced for the PlayStation and PC versions.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter, which released on the Xbox 360 as scheduled on 26th October, had earlier been pushed back to 29th October on PS3 and PC, but several retailers received the game on 26th October itself.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which again released as scheduled on Xbox 360 (2nd November), was initially pushed back to 5th November on PS3 and PS Vita and 9th November on PC. Here again, the PS3 and Vita versions were eventually released on the 2nd itself, begging the question of why a delay was announced in the first place.

The PC version of Most Wanted is yet to hit stores and is now scheduled to do so tomorrow, 7th November.

WWE ’13, however, is still missing from stores shelves. The game was scheduled for release on 1st November, but several online retailers, including Flipkart, Nextworld and Game4u, still have the game listed for preorder. Only the Xbox 360 version appears to be in stock at Flipkart.
