Penny Arcade event to showcase ten of the most promising indie titles on the radar

PAX indie game contest finds ten finalists

Ten finalist indie titles are set to compete for first place at the upcoming Penny Arcade Expo.

Event organisers chose the ten promising indie games from over 150 submissions, with the competition now set to heat up as each of the games’ developers will showcase their work at a designated booth during the event.

For the overall winner comes a great chance to place their game in a flattering global spotlight. Last year, it was Twisted Pixel’s The Maw that took first place.

"The judges were absolutely blown away by the polished and robust experiences offered by the 2009 submissions," said Robert Khoo of Penny Arcade.

"We’re impressed yet again by the amazing games that indie developers are creating and know that, when you stop by The PAX 10 booth at the show, you will be, too."

The finalists for the event are listed below:

CarneyVale: Showtime by the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Games Lab (Xbox 360)
Closure by Tyler Glaiel and Jon Schubbe (PC)
Fieldru/nners by Subatomic Studios (iPhone)
Liight by Studio Walljump (Wii)
