Developer hopes to keep talent in the Leamington Spa area, following Blitz closure

Pitbull opens third studio in the Midlands

Pitbull Studio has unveiled a third studio in the Midlands, and hopes to save jobs following the closure of Blitz Games Studios yesterday.

Pitbull Midlands, located close to Leamington Spa and Birmingham, will be centred on highly technical programming staff that will be working on developing Unreal Engine 4 and other Epic Games projects.

This announcement comes just a few months after Pitbull opened its second development studio in Guildford.

Pitbull is planning to grow further over the coming months and looking for more programming resources for its Sunderland and Guildford studios, as well as its new studio in the Midlands. It currently expects to reach 50 employees before the end of 2013.

Robert Troughton, founder and MD of Pitbull Studio, said: “The decision to open a third games studio in the Midlands was an easy one – this area has a strong history of games development and we already employ great programmers in the area. As a company we offer all employees challenging and rewarding careers, working on the cutting edge of technology.”

Pitbull Studio has most notably been working with US-based Epic Games to develop Unreal Engine 4. The studio has also signed up to work on the next generation platforms from Sony and Microsoft, as well as all the existing platforms.
