Former Midway Newcastle team developing title for new indie studio

Pitbull Studio announces debut contract

Pitbull Studio Limited, the studio formed by Robert Troughton from the remains of Midway Newcastle after it went into insolvency last summer, has announced its first project.

The contract is for “a circus game using the next-generation motion controllers”, which Pitbull says will utilise new technology developed by the studio in-house.

“This project is allowing Pitbull to work with some next-generation technology that, otherwise we wouldn’t have access to,” said Pitbull MD Troughton.

“We were awarded the project because of the level of expertise we have within the company – for something like this our partners, who we can’t reveal just yet, needed to be sure they chose the right people for the job. Choosing us simply removes the risk for them. For us, it allows us to hit the ground running with our new studio.”

Troughton went on to impress his happiness with the work his new firm has available to it.

“There’s definitely work out there for qualified developers,” he stated.

“We’re in the enviable position of being able to choose the best partners to work with.”

Pitbull recently announced the appointments of Jim Parr and Jef Hardy, former members of Troughton’s pre-Midway Newcastle studio Pitbull Syndicate Limited. More employment announcements are expected soon, with the studio’s first title expected for a release early next year.
