FireTeam: Reloaded to include voice chat features

Pixel Mine premieres first game and Vivox partnership

Austin-based Pixel Mine, which launched just weeks ago, has unveiled its first game via a partnership with online game voice comms firm Vivox.

FireTeam: Reloaded is a new battle sports game from the studio, which wants to focus on short play games delivered via its own online PC games platform.

The game emphasises player chat during matches – Vivox will provide Pixel Mine with customised voice communication services, with team, game spectator and lobby channels. Vivox is also building a customised desktop communications and IM client.

"We want to build captivating games for the online gaming community that keep them engaged and invested in the community. In order to deliver a quality solution to our audience, we chose Vivox,” said Pixel Mine President David Reese.

CTO Michael Songy added: “We needed a voice partner with a proven ability to scale efficiently and with the resources to support our plans for an active online community. Our partnership with Vivox will keep Pixel Mine out of the cookie cutter pattern of games and aide us in our mission to change the way online games are delivered to today’s players.”
