UK firm could win trip to Richard Branson's Centre for Entrepreneurship in South Africa

Playmob named in Talent Unleashed awards

Playmob has been named as one of 15 businesses using technology to improve society or the world of business in the running for the Talent Unleashed UK awards.

The shortlist features a variety of entrepreneurs and technology firms that help businesses tap into new revenue streams, help people with shopping and family days out, or – in Playmob’s case – raise money for charity.

The winner, announced on October 23rd, will receive a trip to Richard Branson’s Centre for Entrepreneurship in South Africa and meet the legendary businessman himself.

Playmob, run by CEO Jude Ower (pictured), has been shortlisted for its work creating ‘in-game giving’ allowing players to donate money within video games to charity.

Sir Richard Branson has been judging the Talent Unleashed Awards, and said: "I’ve been quite overwhelmed by the quality of the entrants, and as you know I am a bit of an ideas man, so to see all these great ideas and businesses has been remarkable.

"Talent is one of those organisations that care about tomorrow and how we change the world today by inspiring tomorrow’s technological sector and the people in it."
