South Korea-based MMO specialist NCsoft has posted its results for its Q2 period, and it took $11.5 million in net income despite a year-on-year drop in sales of 11 per cent.

The firm generated $82.1 million in sales for the period ending June 30th, whilst operating income jumped a whopping 533 per cent to $11.5 million, 59 per cent of which came in Korea. Its net income was converted to surplus.

The same quarter in 2006 saw a one-time write-off for the NetDevil-developed game Auto Assault.

NCsoft CFO Jaeho Lee said in a statement that the company is continuing to integrate its PlayNC online gaming service, and introduce casual games, according to next-gen.

We saw a noticeable growth of up to 1.3 million visitors to [PlayNC] during the quarter,” he said.
