Publisher TopWare to open UK office

TopWare Interactive has announced plans to open a UK publishing office within the next six months.

The news comes as the German developer-publisher takes back UK publishing rights to RPG sequel Two Worlds II following a revised deal with SouthPeak Games.

The title is already out in most European territories and will hit UK stores on January 25th, 2011. It was due to be published by SouthPeak this year but now the firm is focusing solely on the US market for the game.

TopWare’s new office will focus on all future releases for the firm in UK, including press and retail support.

TopWare also confirmed that 1m copies of Two Worlds II have been sold across Europe after three weeks on sale. It’s the sequel to 2007’s action RPG Two Worlds which has an average Metacritic score of 65 per cent.

TopWare also claims the new game has been awarded exceptional review scores by 60 publications.

Both TopWare and SouthPeak want our game to get the attention it deserves,” said TopWare’s MD James Seaman.

South Peak wants to give the North American market 100 per cent of its attention, and we’re happy we were able to take some of the weight off their shoulders. Two Worlds II really is a labour of love – the fans are going to be blown away in January.”
